Kata linguistik berasal dari bahasa latin lingua yang berarti ’bahasa’. Linguistik adalah ilmu tentang bahasa atau ilmu yang menjadikan bahasa sebagai objek kajiannya. Dalam bahasa Perancis ada tiga istilah untuk menyebut bahasa yaitu:
  • Langue: suatu bahasa tertentu. 
  • Langage: bahasa secara umum.
  • Parole: bahasa dalam wujud yang nyata yaitu berupa ujaran.
Ilmu linguistik sering juga disebut linguistik umum (general linguistics). Artinya, ilmu linguistik tidak hanya mengkaji sebuah bahasa saja, melainkan mengkaji seluk beluk bahasa pada umumnya, yang dalam peristilahan Perancis disebut langage. Pakar linguistik disebut linguis. Bapak Linguistik modern adalah Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913). Bukunya tentang bahasa berjudul Course de Linguistique Generale yang diterbitkan pertama kali tahun 1916.

The word "linguistics" is derived from the Latin word 'lingua', which means ’language’.  Linguistics is the study of the language or the science that makes the language as the object of the study. In French there are three terms to describe the language that is:
  • Langue: a specific languages. 
  • Langage: language in general.
  • Parole: language in the real forms that are in the form of speech.

Linguistics is often called General Linguistics. That is, the science of Linguistics is not only examine a language alone, but rather examine the ins and outs of language in general, which in French is called langage. Linguistic experts are called linguists. The father of modern Linguistics was Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913). His book about language entitled Course de Linguistique Generale, first published in 1916.

Islamic Economics

Islamic economics is a social science which studies about the citizen’s economic problems inspired by Islamic values. Islamic economics or cooperative economic system is different from capitalism, socialism, or even welfare state. It is different from capitalism because Islam opposes exploitation to the poor workers by the owners of capital and forbids the accumulation of wealth. Besides, economy from Islam’s perspective is a life demands as well as advice which have religious dimension that is applied in the ethical and moral.

The Difference of Islamic Economics and Conventional Economics
The economy crisis which often occur is considered as the act of conventional economic system, which put forward the system of interest as the profit’s instruments. It is contrast with the offers given by Islamic economic system, which implementing sharing system as their profit instrument. Islamic economic system is very different with capitalist, socialist, or communist economy. Islamic economics is also not being in the center of those three economic systems. Contrary to the Islamic economics, capitalist is more individualist, socialist who gives almost all the responsibility to its community, as well as the extreme communist. Islamic economics establishes trading rules and respect in transaction. Islamic economics must be able to provide the welfare of its community, gives a sense of fairness to each members, provides togetherness and kinship and be able to give greater opportunity to every business.

The Objective of Islamic Economics
Islamic economics has the objective to give the harmony of life in the world. Islamic values is not solely belong to Muslim only, but also to every living creature in this world. The essence of the Islamic economics is the fulfillment of human needs based on Islamic values ​​in order to achieve the goal of religion (Falah). Islamic economics becomes the grace to the entire universe which is not limited by economic, social, cultural and political of a nation. Islamic economics is capable to capture the value of the phenomenon of society so that in the process it will not leave the source of Islamic economic theory of Islamic law, can change.

The Potential of Islamic Economics in Indonesia
Society organization in the field of Islamic economics, The People of Islamic Economy (Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah (MES) evaluates that the Islamic economy in 2015 will grow better than this year. It is adapting to the growth of the national economy forecast which is also expected to increase at about 5.5%. Some industrial forecasts related to Islamic economics such as Islamic banking and Islamic insurance support the fact. The growth of Islamic banking is expected to reach between 5-6% market sections. Indonesian Islamic insurance industry which now hold the fourth position of the world will grow by 20% in 2015. According to the MES Islamic economic growth in 2015 will get better.
